This project is the design of a biotechnology research lab.


During my university years, I worked on various design projects, including offices, residential spaces, and retail shops. For my graduation project, I chose to design a research lab, which I was particularly interested in. The current global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has highlighted the increasing damage caused by viruses worldwide. With the likelihood of more viruses emerging in the future, the role of research labs is becoming even more crucial. That’s why I decided to design a biotechnology research lab. In the future, transportation technology is expected to advance further, and research materials will be delivered through the transportation means of the future. Taking these factors into account, I aimed for a future-oriented design, using DNA as a motif to plan the space. For my final graduation project, I pursued a futuristic design, and I conducted an exhibition using 3D printing and acrylic for modeling and the process form.
